Tax Day Tribute

Yesterday in the US was one of the least-favorite holidays, Tax Day. Millions of Americans procrastinate to the very last minute to get to the Post Office at what they thought was a good time, only to have to wait 30 goddamn minutes in a line that blocks traffic and wraps around the block.

We all know that death and taxes are inevitable, but I don't think enough people are really educated on what taxes they are paying. We pay taxes on everything from purchasing products to dying, and I'm pretty sure the Far-right is trying to find a way to tax masturbation. Largest Surplus EVER. However, most people are not aware of why these taxes are created. One example is a telephone tax that most people have probably never even noticed. If you look at your phone bill there is a tax there that is not your standard tax, but its own special item. What you may not also realize is this was created to finance a war...that happened over a century ago. Yet still today we are paying off a war that less than 1% of the population lived through.

That is merely a drop in the pond however to the most retarded of all taxes, the income tax. Who was the dumb motherfucker that thought people should be penalized for working, and perhaps causing a disincentive to getting work? That would be our wonderful elected officials that need to find some way to finance their wars. The first time it was introduced to Congress was to help finance the War of 1812, but it was shut down. In 1895 it was ruled unconstitutional by the SCOTUS, but later repealed in 1913.

Why is this a big deal? Our current income tax level sucks, but it could be worse. So no big deal, right? Not exactly. The income tax has historically been high during times of war. During WWI our marginal tax was around as much as 70% for the upper brackets. During WWII this rose to over 80%, and peaked at around 90% in the 50s. This dropped slightly to the 70% range during Vietnam, and dropped down to a more normal rate during the Reagan administration. Sure its only the rich that are being raped at these percentages, but the average taxpayer is not far behind.

So why should you give a fuck? Well currently we are at war. And if you've been following along, war is expensive and the money has to come from somewhere, that would be us. We are currently over $500 BILLION dollars right now for the cost of the Iraq War, and our guys are doing a damn fine job over there and deserve to see results. Unfortunately, the Iraqi government and military are not living up to their end of the bargain, which means our guys are lost because of their bullshit.

We really need to do something about this come November...but none of the presidential candidates really seem like they have an answer that makes sense. Just the usual standard answer to elicit the seemingly Pavlovian response that has been programmed into them by their handlers to reach their targeted demographic.

Hopefully this ends sooner than later.

Hillary's Election = Judgment Day?

In the current events of 2008 US Presidential election, only one thing has remained a true constant amongst the series of flip-flops: Hillary Clinton is an opportunistic bitch. The aura of smug that surrounds her is palpable to say the least, but now she is even trying to change the rules that she had agreed upon.

On September 1st, Clinton signed a statement put forth by the DNC saying that primaries held before the scheduled time would by null and void.
This was a seemingly honorable move to stick by the principles that the entire system is based. However, now that things are looking particularly grim for her, she has changed her desire and wants the results of the Florida and Michigan primaries to be counted. And why does she want this? The simple answer is her campaign is circling the drain. She knows that since she "won" those primaries (despite being the only candidate on the ballot in Michigan), she would have some semblance of advantage over Senator Obama.

This does not seem like such a huge deal out of context. Most candidates would like to have any advantage afforded to them when vying for the most powerful position on the planet. However, the person in question is such a bred politician that it calls the actions into serious question. Hillary has an agenda, as most candidates do, that is so blinding that she is willing to do whatever it takes to make it come to fruition. She has lied on so many an occasion that the only explanation as to why she has not been metaphorically stoned is due to the American population's fascination and love of the former President Clinton.

This is a woman that has somehow spun her actions during her husband's presidency to make it seem that she has gained experience merely through osmosis. I may not be 100% accurate on this, but being around a person during the most important and difficult job in the US is not equivalent of doing the job yourself. I may be fucking crazy for this notion, I'm not sure.

This is the same woman that does not even have any real way of connecting to the American public, but she sure does have a way to make it seem like she does. I know I'm not the only person that thinks this. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/opinion/article3571700.ece
She has been living in such a sterile political lifestyle that she has no common ground on which to speak to normal people. Nor is she very good about hiding her latent-aristocratic attitude about those in the working classes.

So how is it that she is able to have so many good answers that appeal to the working class? Programming. She has been programmed and filled with so many answers that any computer scientist can see a direct correlation between simple "if" statements and her Q&A sessions: "if question=____, then return _____." Bill had this kind of glib about him as well, though his natural charisma was enough for most to turn their heads. Hillary on the other hand has a sort of sinister about her that makes one uneasy with the thought of, "If she is only giving programmed answers, who is really behind her pulling the strings?"

I really don't have any of the answers here, but I do know that there are a lot of people that are supporting Hillary for the wrong reasons, and this should be called out. I am not naive to the fact that there are people in this country that will vote for a candidate simply because they fit in some category as the voter, be it gender, ethnicity, religion, or whatever. This is a natural tendency of voters and is not anything that truly puts the voter at fault, but one must be aware of this. Supporting Hillary because you want to see a woman in the White House for whatever reason is a stupid fucking idea. First, she's not a woman, she's a robot. Second, she's either a fucking idiot, or she's completely full of shit. She keeps plugging her idea of socialized, pardon me, universal health care, yet she doesn't articulate the how, just the what. This is a type of system that would fuck up our economy on such a level that strategic planning would take much more time than one person's presidential candidacy. If you are buying into the hype of socialized health care amidst an imminent economic recession, then you are a fucking moron.

She has a persona so chock-full of lies and misdirections that one must wonder what her true aspirations are. My guess is something much more sinister than leading our country to Socialism, something that would rival movie bad-guy status. Is it mere coincidence that her bid for presidency not only comes for the term where the Mayan calendar ends, but also when "Terminator's" Skynet became self aware?

All we can do is hope she doesn't get elected, cause if she does we are all fucked.
